Issued at 5:00 a.m., Saturday, 03 October 2009 Typhoon "PEPENG" has accelerated as it continues to move towards Cagayan.

Coordinates: 16.6°N, 123.6°E
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near center
and gustiness of up to 210 kph
Movement: Northwest at 17 kph
