PCL convention to be held in Bora

LINGAYEN - Ten outstanding councilors in the province will be given recognition in Pangasinan Councilors League convention to be held in Boracay.

Board Member Raul Sison Pangasinan Councilors League president (PCL) said that the convention intends to recognize the efforts of each deserving councilors in the name public service.

He said that the awardees will be evaluated and chosen by a team of evaluators coming from the education sector, from the Interior and Local Government and the president of the Pangasinan Press and Radio Club, among others.

"There are 76 councilors who will graduate or finish their third term in 2010. They will all be given a graduation ring which will symbolize their dedication and commitment in serving the people," Sison said.

Also to be given recognition will be the longest serving councilor in the Philippines (37 cumulative years), as well as, the oldest councilor in the country who both are Pangasinenses.

Among the invited guest speakers are presidential aspirants.

"The guest of honor and speaker during the awarding ceremony will be our very own Governor Amado Espino Jr.

That night is especially reserved for him as we want him to be with the 476 councilors," he added.

The municipal and city councilors in the province of Pangasinan are set to have a convention in Boracay.
